What a Joy!

It's not completely done but oh what a joy! What a sweet sound it has and it is mine and I made it! I can't begin to tell you how awesome it is to play. I get this smile on my face as I play because the music that comes from the instrument is something that is part of me.

My violin has surface blemishes and some irregularities in symmetry but It sounds great and plays so easily. I wouldn't sell it for many thousands of dollars unless of course the next one is as good or better.

I'm going to take my time in varnishing it. Have to do some research. I know that it will be a deep amber color hopefully with darker shades around the edges and ff holes. Sorry about the long interlude between blogs but my day job is in full force and at night lately its me and my baby over there. Surely you can understand. Soon I hope to begin the next one which will be documented better, not here but on my website which doesn't exist yet. I have the domain name Custom Crafted Violins. My friend Steven Williams will be hosting it on his server "clickcapecod.com. I'll have more complete pictures of every phase hopefully. Thanks for all the support and encouragement. It's hard to believe a year has gone by since the commitment to this endeavor. Bill

  4. Congratulations, mistro! I second Susan's comment, how I wish I could accomplish such atask. Maybe when my baby's are gone. I am bummed because I am away from home and the computor I am using can not pull up the pic. Can't wait to see it and HEAR IT. One of the task in my box is to figure out how to "skype". I think that is what it is called. Then, I want a concert. Way to go!
